Solidarity Statement

We stand in resolute solidarity with the Association for the Relatives of the Enforced Disappearances (ARED) and the Tamil mothers, wives, and families across the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka who continue their courageous, peaceful pursuit of truth, justice, and accountability.

For decades, families have carried the overwhelming weight of uncertainty regarding their missing loved ones. The unwavering resolve of Tamil mothers—sustaining one of the longest continuous democratic protests in the world—demands urgent international focus and meaningful action.

We deeply honor ARED’s tireless efforts in organizing "The Long Road to Justice" international conference. To demonstrate collective unity and emphasize the urgent need for justice for victims, survivors, and searching families, we call on the international community, civil society, legal advocates, and members of the public to attend this critical event.

பல தசாப்தங்களாக, காணாமல் ஆக்கப்பட்ட தங்களின் அன்பிற்குரியவர்களின் நிலை குறித்த நிச்சயமற்ற தன்மையின் தாங்க முடியாத பாரத்தை இந்தக் குடும்பங்கள் சுமந்து வருகின்றன. உலகின் மிக நீண்ட தொடர் ஜனநாயகப் போராட்டங்களில் ஒன்றைக் கடந்து நிற்கும் தமிழ் தாயார்களின் தளராத மனவுறுதி, உடனடி சர்வதேச கவனத்தையும் உண்மையான நடவடிக்கைகளையும் கோருகிறது.

"நீதியை நோக்கிய நீண்ட பயணம்" என்ற சர்வதேச மாநாட்டை ஏற்பாடு செய்வதில் ARED அமைப்பு எடுத்துள்ள அயராத முயற்சிகளை நாங்கள் ஆழமாகப் பாராட்டி கௌரவிக்கிறோம். பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், தப்பிப்பிழைத்தவர்கள் மற்றும் நீதிக்காகக் காத்திருக்கும் குடும்பங்களுக்கு விரைவான நீதி கிடைப்பதன் அவசியத்தையும் நமது கூட்டு ஒற்றுமையையும் வெளிப்படுத்த, இந்த முக்கியமான நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொள்ளுமாறு சர்வதேச சமூகம், சிவில் அமைப்புகள், சட்ட வல்லுநர்கள் மற்றும் பொதுமக்களை நாங்கள் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
